A top-level team of French businessmen are to visit Libya from 11 to 15 February. Organised by the French businessmen’s organisation . . .[restrict]MEDEF and the Franco-Libyan Chamber of Commerce, the 60-member delegation will be primarily looking at the country’s reconstruction needs.
The delegation will be led by Alain Bonnot, who heads MEDEF’s council of Franco-Libyan chief executives as well being chairman of the Vinci construction group, and by Michel Casals, the chamber of commerce’s president. It will visit Tripoli, Benghazi and Misrata and meet key figures in both Libya’s public and private sectors.
MEDEF has estimated that the reconstruction of Libya following eight months of widespread destruction of the country’s economic infrastructure will cost around LD 250 billion. [/restrict]
