Tripoli, 4 September 2014:

The British Ambassador Michael Aron and British Special Envoy to Libya Jonathan Powell have continued . . .[restrict]their current Libya tour with a visit to Misrata today. They met with six of the city’s eight members of the House of Representatives as well as with Misrata Municipal Council.

They left late this afternoon for Tripoli.

The eight Mistrata members are boycotting the HoR meetings claiming it to have been unconstitutionally inaugurated. Some are reported to be among the handful of HoR members who have been working with former General National Congress members led by Nuri Abu Sahmai who have resurrected the latter in opposition to the HoR.
