Tripoli, 2 March 2014:
The Higher National Elections Commission (HNEC) has announced the results of the elections for 47 . . .[restrict]of the seats for the Constitutional Committee.
The other 13 seats remain unfilled because boycotts and violence on election day prevented polling in the areas taking place. Attempts to re-run the elections on Wednesday also failed.
The results announced at a press conference at HNEC headquarters yesterday,were for all 11 constituencies: Bitnan, Jebel Akhdar, Benghazi, Ajdabiya, Sirte, Misrata, Tripoli, Zawia, Sebha, Obari and Ghadames.
Head of HNEC Nuri Elabbar added that the results were subject to a 12-day window for appeals.

Violence and threats of violence firstly on election day, on 20 February, and then on lat Wednesday’s attempt re-run, prevented seats in Derna being elected.
Elabbar said yesterday that HNEC had made repeated requests to the government and Congress to provide security for voting centres over the course of the elections.
