Libyan Indonesian Joint Committee holds Second Session in Jakarta – visas to be phased out. Libyan Indonesian Chambers of Commerce sign MoU

The Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce reported last Monday (15 December) that the Second Session of the Libyan Indonesian Joint Committee convened in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday, to strengthen the existing friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The Libyan side was headed by Mohamed Saeed Zeidan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Expatriate Affairs, while the Indonesian side was headed by Muhammad Anies Mata, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia. Representatives from relevant authorities in both countries also participated.

Visa exemption for diplomatic and Special passports – with complete exemption of visas soon
At the end of the meeting, the heads of the two delegations signed the agreed-upon minutes of the Second Session of the Joint Committee. They also agreed to exempt holders of diplomatic and special passports from entry visas, with the aim of facilitating the movement of officials between the two countries. Both sides agreed that this exemption would constitute an important preliminary step towards working towards the complete elimination of visa requirements for citizens of both countries soon.

Meanwhile, Omar Abu Fanas participated in this committee as a representative of the General Union of Chambers, where he initialled the memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia, which contributes to strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
