The Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) announced yesterday that it is launching a direct subsidised shipping line to Sub-Saharan Africa ports.
The LEDA said it has been engaged in several discussions with Libyan shipping companies as well as the Moroccan authorities to cooperate in facilitating a direct shipping line through Moroccan ports to sub-Saharan African ports.
LEDA said the shipping line will save on shipping line as well as a discounted rate of about 50 per cent. It said this reflects its efforts to support Libyan exports and open export opportunities to sub-Saharan African countries.
