Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) reported yesterday that it had signed an MoU with Italy’s Eli-Fly Helicopter Services company, represented by its General Manager, Francesco Comensoli.
The MoU aims to implement a joint infrastructure investment project necessary to provide helicopter services through the MFZ port, and to equip facilities dedicated to training and development services in this field. This includes establishing a local training centre in the fields of leadership and air navigation in accordance with European Union (EASA) standards.
After the signing of the MoU, the investment site of Eli-Fly – MFZ branch was inaugurated.
It will be recalled, and as reported by Libya Herald at the time, Eli-Fly had initially signed its agreement to establish its presence in the MFZ back in April this year.
MFZ said Eli-Fly Helicopter Services aims to revitalize its business in Libya by providing helicopter transportation services to support logistical operations in oil fields and ports and providing ambulance and emergency services to hospitals and health centres.

The signing and inauguration formalities included the MFZ Chairman, the President of the Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Libya, the MFZ’s General Manager, and directors of the Investment and Marketing Departments.
