The Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Transport’s Airports Authority reported yesterday that an Emirates Airlines security delegation arrived in Tripoli yesterday to begin an inspection tour of Mitiga Airport.

They were met by Abdel Moneim Al-Gamoudi, Assistant Director General of Mitiga Airport, and Makram Khashkhousha, Director of the Aviation Security Office at the Civil Aviation Authority.

The Airports Authority said the visit is part of an assessment of the security measures in place at the airport. The delegation is scheduled to begin an inspection today, which will include meetings with relevant authorities to discuss ways to enhance cooperation.

This visit is part of efforts to resume flights between Tripoli and Dubai and reflects the interest of the Airports Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority in improving the aviation environment in Libya and attracting international companies to Libyan airports.
