Libya and Serbia agree to sign an MoU in the renewables sector in the near future.
The news was revealed during the meeting of the Chairman of the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL), Abdul Salam Al-Ansari, at REAoL’s Tripoli headquarters yesterday with the Secretary of State at the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Stojanovic, and his accompanying delegation.
The visit comes as part of the Serbian delegation’s broader visit to Libya to meet other Libyan entities and participate in the Libyan Serbian Economic Forum held in Tripoli on 27 January.
During the meeting ways to enhance joint cooperation between Libya and Serbia in the field of renewable energies were discussed.
Serbia ready to cooperate in renewables
According to REAoL, Secretary of State Stojanovic affirmed his country’s readiness to support and strengthen cooperation with Libya in the field of renewable energies, and work to expand the horizons of partnership between the public and private sectors in both countries in this field.
Signing an MoU soon
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation during the coming period, through which frameworks and mechanisms will be developed to regulate this cooperation. This cooperation will be in the field of exchanging experiences, capacity building, training and implementing investment projects in the field of renewable energies to serve the interests of the two countries in this field.
