A plane carrying 71,630 kilograms of humanitarian aid arrived yesterday from Belgrade, Serbia arrived at Tripoli’s Mitiga airport. The aid was sent by the Serbian government to the Tripoli Government’s Emergency and Rapid Response Team Committee in Libya.
The aid consisted of medical sterilizers, water bottles, protective suits, and coats.
The plane was officially received by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation for Air Transport Affairs, Khaled Nasr Swesi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth, Ahmed Al-Kateb, the Administrative Attaché at the Libyan Embassy in Serbia, Mustafa Bait Al-Mal, and the Director of the Mitiga International Airport Port, Hosni Al-Marhoun.
The humanitarian aid is part of the international aid effort sent to Libya by several countries to help those affected by the Storm Daniel disaster that hit eastern Libya generally and Derna specifically.
