The Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, headed by Acting Chairman, Moneim Al-Saeeti, hosted last Tuesday (30 January) the Consul General of Morocco, Saeed Benkirane, in the city of Benghazi in the presence of the representatives of the Casablanca Public Works Company (TGCC).

The meeting included presenting a programme of working visits sponsored by the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce to introduce TGCC to a group of Libyan institutions and companies in the public and private sectors to establish a real partnership. The aim is for this partnership to advance and accelerate the Libyan economy’s development and investment and revitalise trade between the two countries.

Aspects of cooperation in various economic, commercial and investment fields were discussed, as well as enhancing and facilitating procedures and overcoming difficulties for businessmen, companies, exporters and investors between the two parties.

The meeting also addressed the definition of the specializations and purposes of TGCC, which has been listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange since 2021. The company, which had opened a branch in Libya in 2023, had a turnover of more than 550 million euros in 2022.

It was founded in 1991 with 75 percent of shares to its owner and the rest divided among some banks and a European investment fund in Malta in 2014. It carries out construction and investment activities in West African countries (Ivory Coast – Senegal – Guinea – Gabon – Cameroon).
