The MoU stipulates the launch of studies of a group of projects for developing the free zone at its two sites (A) and (B) and investing in infrastructure projects within them.

According to Baba, MFZ seeks to be a strategic centre to attract investments in Libya and North Africa because of its capabilities, good infrastructure, and the advantages it provides to investors. In addition to its possession of a port that is considered among the best ports in Africa due to its location near European ports with high commercial activity, which makes it among the options for shipping lines for transit trade.
