On the first day helping in search and rescue operations in the Turkish earthquake zone, the Libyan Joint Medical Team of the Centre for Emergency Medicine and Support and the Apparatus for Support and Development of Therapeutic Services reported Thursday conducting:
- 14 medium operations
- 23 minor operations
- 2 caesarean sections
The joint team reported that most of the cases received and treated are of Syrian nationality.
It also reported that the ambulance and corpse recovery team contributed to the recovery of 17 bodies from under the rubble, in addition to monitoring five children stuck under the rubble. It reported that the team is still working on getting them out.
The joint team reported that it is the only Arab field hospital that has been established in Turkey so far.
