London, 24 May 2021:

The Egyptian Business Association (EBA) formed a committee to prepare a list of companies that want to take part in reconstruction opportunities in Libya as the association plans to send a delegation soon to coordinate partnerships.

The EBA told Egypttoday.com yesterday that it is backing the state’s orientation to participate in the reconstruction of regional countries.

It noted that Egyptian companies operating in constructions, building material, and engineering consulting have accumulated notable experience over the past years as a result of carrying out mega national projects across the country such as building new cities, housing projects of various categories, and roads.

The EBA added that entering the Libyan market under the auspices of the Egyptian government dispels fear of different risks, including the security ones.

The statement comes on the back of the visit of Egyptian Prime Minster Moustafa Madbouly to Tripoli with 11 Ministers on 20 April during which 11 MoUs to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various field were signed.

The 11 ministers include the ministers of electricity, petroleum, manpower, education, international cooperation, health, housing, transport, aviation, and trade.

This included agreements in health, electricity, manpower and industry and an MoU related to the return of Egyptian workers to Libya to contribute to reconstructing and developing the country.

Facilitation of entry and exit of funds, individuals and goods between two countries

Meanwhile, various Libyan media sources have reported that Egyptian Minister of Housing Assem El-Jazzar saying that his country is working with Libya to facilitate the entry and exit of funds, individuals and goods between the two sides in preparation for the start of the work of Egyptian companies in the reconstruction process.

He was reported as saying that Egypt is now studying 10 projects that represent the beginning of the work of Egyptian companies in the reconstruction of Libya.
