After launching its first scheduled flights (three times a week) to Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport on 1 May, Air Cairo announced that it is planning to expand its services to Libya soon – with new flights to the cities of Benghazi, Misrata and Sebha.

The revelation was made by Hussein Al-Sharif, Chairman of Air Cairo, during his meeting in Tripoli (and his accompanying delegation) with Libya’s Tripoli based Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi last Tuesday (5 May).

The meeting was to discuss ways to expand the scope of flights between Libyan and Egyptian airports. in addition to working on strengthening cooperation with Libyan airlines, in a way that achieves the common interests of both parties.

The two sides also discussed mechanisms for enhancing technical and operational cooperation, which will contribute to facilitating travel and supporting the smooth flow of air transport between the two countries, in addition to improving the level of services provided to passengers.
