Mitiga Airport reported today that welcomed a joint delegation today from ITA Airways of Italy and Lufthansa of Germany as part of an official visit aimed at discussing the operation of the air route between Libya and Italy and strengthening cooperation in the field of air transport.

The visit included a tour of the airport facilities to review its operational capabilities and passenger services, followed by meetings with the airport management to discuss operational, technical, safety, and security requirements. This, to ensure the airport's readiness to operate international flights in accordance with international standards.

The Libyan Civil Aviation Authority said the visit is to evaluate the security measures at the airport and the extent of compliance with the international standards and rules adopted in the field of civil aviation security.‎

Mitiga airport said this visit reflects its continuous efforts to strengthen partnerships with leading international airlines, expand its air route network, facilitate passenger travel, and enhance air connectivity between Libya and Europe.
