The Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Health reported last Thursday (14 May) that its Minister, Mohamed Al-Ghouj, oversaw the ‘‘strategic event’’ in the largest reopening at 13 model clinic complexes (the “Golden Complexes”) in several cities and regions. The Ministry said this step aims to bring about a radical transformation in accessible healthcare to citizens.

The Minister was able to follow the opening ceremonies of the complexes in the cities of Al-Khoms, Gharian, and Zawia via live broadcast. The Ministry said the inspected the advanced equipment and ensured the smooth commencement of operations. The clinics appeared with a comprehensive technological and medical framework, confirming the Ministry’s commitment to providing healthcare facilities that meet international standards.

In his speech during the ceremony, Al-Ghouj emphasized, “Today, we continue our practical and confident steps towards developing the health sector by inaugurating 13 ‘Golden Complexes’ that provide rapid, comprehensive, and high-quality medical services. Our goal is for citizens to experience the difference in the speed and accessibility of services without the need for travel, which embodies the essence of the Tripoli government’s ‘Return to Life’ plan.”

The Minister also reiterated his gratitude to the Tripoli Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, for his unwavering support, stressing that providing the necessary resources and capabilities was the primary driver for improving health services. He commended the institutional integration that has made the ‘Return to Life’ plan a tangible reality, transforming the health sector throughout Libya.
