PowerElec 2025 opens with more than 40 specialised local and international companies participating

PowerElec 2025 will be held from 8-11 December at Tripoli International Fairgrounds

PowerElec 2025 trade fair (8 to 11 December) opened at Tripoli International Fairgrounds yesterday with the participation of more than 40 specialized local and international companies, amidst a large official and professional presence.

The opening ceremony was attended by Abdul Salam Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL), and several board members, along with several department and office directors from REAoL.

Also present at the opening ceremony were: Asil Younis Muhammad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Holding Company; Essam Al-Awl, Chairman of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences; Shukri Al-Tayef, Deputy Director General of the Tripoli International Fair; Omar Al-Qaid, a member of the Board of Directors of the General Electricity Company of Libya; Abdullah Hamouda, Director General of the General Electricity Company, along with a number of department directors from the company; and Youssef Al-Naas, Director General of the Libyan Centre for Solar Energy Research and Studies, and Zuhair Hamdi, Executive Director of the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, along with a large gathering of specialists, businesspeople, and citizens.

The exhibition featured specialized pavilions showcasing renewable energy technologies and electrical equipment systems, as well as participation from companies operating in the fields of electrical construction and oil services. The exhibition, sponsored by the Renewable Energy Authority and jointly coordinated by the General Electricity Company and the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, will run for four days and include several accompanying activities.

REAoL reported that a specialized dialogue session on re-engineering Libya’s energy landscape is scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the exhibition today. The session will analyse the indicators of the current energy system, the existing challenges, and the promising opportunities in solar and wind energy. It will also present strategic visions that support the transition to sustainable energy and contribute to formulating a national roadmap for comprehensive energy transformation.
