Representatives from the National Mining Corporation (NMC) participated in a national workshop yesterday entitled: "National Dialogue on Transforming Libya’s Strategic Energy Sector towards Sustainable Energy Systems."
The Tripoli workshop was organised by the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL), with the participation and sponsorship of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
The workshop saw the participation of various national and international entities and institutions, aiming to explore ways to support the transition to a more sustainable energy system and foster integration across different sectors.
The NMC was represented by the Director of the Investment and Companies Department and the Director of the Mining Department. They engaged with the discussion topics and trends regarding sustainable energy, as well as their implications for economic and productive sectors—most notably the mining industry.
The NMC said its participation reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships and cooperation with national and international entities. It also aligns with the NMC's efforts to keep pace with global energy transitions, develop the mining sector, create a sustainable investment environment, and utilize clean energy sources in mining activities and projects.
Through this participation, the NMC said it reaffirms its dedication to ensuring that the mining sector plays an active role in Libya’s transition toward sustainable development and clean energy.
