Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported today that its Sirte Oil and Gas Production and Processing Company has achieved a new milestone in its track record of success after completing the drilling of the C353H horizontal well in the Zilten oil field with a horizontal section of about 900 feet, using the latest Geosteering HD real time reservoir mapping while drilling.
The well, the NOC added, was also put into production in record time, after the results of the well test conducted today morning showed unprecedented results, represented in the flow rate of the well exceeding 2,300 barrels per day of water-free oil.
It is worth noting, the NOC said, that the company’s production rate of crude oil exceeded 103,000 barrels per day during the past days, a figure that has not been achieved since 2007.
The NOC said this achievement comes as part of Sirte Oil Company’s steps to implement the exceptional plan to increase production in 2024 in implementation of the NOC’s plan to increase Libya’s oil and gas production.
