Sirte Free Zone discusses “Smart Port” project with China’s Huawei

Sirte Free Zone meets Oman Chamber of Commerce at Oman Agrofood 2024

The General Manager and Chairman of Sirte Free Zone, Mahmud Elforjani, met yesterday with Huawei Libya’s management to discuss collaboration on the development of the “Smart Port” project in Sirte, a strategic initiative for the Free Zone.

The meeting featured a detailed presentation on the concept of a “Smart Port” as part of the zone’s infrastructure development plan, along with discussions on safe city solutions, smart transportation, and Huawei’s successful global experiences. Smart building and educational institution technologies were also reviewed.

The General Manager emphasized the importance of integrating Huawei’s advanced technologies into Sirte Free Zone projects, noting that developing the Smart Port in Sirte represents a major step toward achieving the zone’s vision as a modern logistical hub.
