LBC delegation participates in Houston’s OTC

A delegation of oil sector businessmen from the Libyan Business Council (LBC) arrived to participate at the OTC show (6-9 May) in Texas, Houston, the Media Department of the LBC informed Libya Herald today.

The visit by the over 100 Libyan delegates, including from various chambers of commerce, is led by AmCham Libya’s President Debbie Hirst. Hirst, the LBC Media Department said, helped with introductions and networking, and helped in explaining to U.S. companies the investment potential in the Libyan oil sector.

Whilst Libyan businessmen have participated as individuals or through the various Libyan chambers of commerce regularly in the OTC over the past years, the LBC said this was the first official visit by the LBC to the OTC.

This, it added, is proof that the private sector in Libya is keen to cooperate with U.S. companies in the sector.

In April, Hirst had told Libya Herald: “We are very excited about the group going to OTC this year. This is the second year we have supported a delegation, and this year’s group is much larger than the previous one, so we are happy with the growing interest.’’
