Health Minister meets AmCham Libya – discuss opening way for US companies in Libya

The Undersecretary General of the Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Health / Acting Minister of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghoug, held a meeting yesterday with the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya (AmCham Libya), Debbie Hirst, and her accompanying delegation. The meeting was held in the presence of the Chairman of the Medical Supply Organisation (MSO) Committee, the Director of the Pharmacy Department, and the Director of the Information, Awareness and Health Education Office at the Health Ministry.‎

‎The Ministry said the meeting came within the framework of expanding international partnerships and to discusses the prospects of international cooperation in supporting the Libyan health sector‎.

‎Follow up on Boulos Aldabaiba meeting
Specifically, the Health Ministry said the meeting comes in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, regarding the follow-up and activation of the outcomes of his recent meeting with the US President’s Advisor for African Affairs, Massad Boulos, which dealt with strengthening cooperation with American institutions and companies in various fields, especially the health sector.‎

‎Opening the way for American companies
The meeting was dedicated to discussing mechanisms of joint cooperation in the development of the Libyan health system, by opening the way for American companies and medical institutions to contribute to infrastructure projects, and to transfer knowledge and expertise, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of health services and achieving fair and comprehensive coverage in various regions.‎
