The Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday that the Serbian embassy has resumed its work from Tripoli.
The announcement came after a meeting at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters between Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, headed by Gora Lakiar, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department. Lakiar handed Baour a written message addressed by the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.
The Libyan Foreign Ministry said the meeting came within the framework of its efforts to urge friendly countries to resume the work of embassies from the capital, Tripoli.
During the meeting, the two sides praised the historical relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, stressing the importance of pushing towards strengthening cooperation and relations in various fields, especially in the field of economy, health and education – to serve the common interests between Libya and Serbia.
