The state National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced last Sunday (28 January) that its subsidiary, Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), was able to convert the non-productive well (HH59-65) – classified as an observation well – in the Messla oil field, into a productive well.
This, after the well had endured a hiatus of two years and eight months. The well now produces 2,104 barrels of oil per day with an associated water percentage of 3 percent, using directed drilling and re-entry.
AGOCO added that the achievement was conducted by Libyan engineers from the Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and Production Departments
The NOC says this comes within the implementation of its strategic plan to increase production rates.
