Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) signed an agreement with Singapore’s Surbana Jurong Consulting Group at the end of September. The signing took place in the presence of MFZ’s Chairman of the Management Committee, the General Director of the Port, the Director of Marketing and Cooperation Department, members of the advisory team, the Regional Director of Surbana and the Director of the British Office.

MFZ reported that Surbana Jurong Group is one of the largest global consulting companies specialized in providing integrated consulting solutions for free and industrial zones and ports with seventy years of experience. During this period, it implemented general plans for more than 60 countries, and planned for more than 100 free and industrial zones and ports around the world, including the Port of Singapore and the industrial zone. Surbana Jurong Group is one of the top 20 global companies in the engineering fields.

Based on the contract signed with the MFZ, Sorbana will progress plans to develop the general strategy for MFZ and expand the seaport, provide integrated consulting solutions for the types of industries and investments that can be settled in the free zone, provide all economic and market studies that will activate the work of the free zone and attract and localise foreign companies.

The MFZ said this agreement reflects its commitment to strengthening and activating its role and status as a transit gateway for African countries and one of the most important international trade corridors.
