Tripoli-based Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, visited the office of the Economic and Social Development Fund (ESDF) in his role as its Chairman of the Board of Trustees on Monday.
The meeting, his government reported, was in order to follow up on the conditions of the ESDF and its subsidiaries, where he held an expanded meeting with the Management Committee, the General Manager, and the directors of its subsidiaries.
Activation of large stalled projects
The government reported that Aldabaiba had confirmed that his visit was to discuss the activation of large investment projects belonging to the ESDF that have been suspended for ten years.
The most important of these are the Nalut Cement Factory, the Marriott Hotel, the Andalus complex, the City Mall, the Ghazala Mall, and other projects that belong to the ESDF where no measures have been taken to activate them.
Work with banks
Aldabaiba stressed the need to unite efforts with investment institutions and banks to return to work, stressing that delay in completing them will not be allowed.
He also instructed the necessity of regulating the field of work of the ESDF’s subsidiaries and defining their field of work on a regular basis, and not to continue the overlapping of competencies between the companies.
