Libyan-German Day held at the Berlin 24th Arab German Economic Forum

London, 6 October 2021:

A Libyan-German Day was held yesterday as part of the proceedings of the 24th Arab-German Economic Forum which kicked off in Berlin on Monday 4 October.

Libya was represented by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Minister of Oil, Chairman of the Privatization and Investment Board (PIB), the Libyan Ambassador to Germany, the chairman of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and the head of the Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce

The Libyan-German Day discussions included supporting and developing economic relations, researching possible investment opportunities, the desire of German businessmen to invest in Libya, and the welcome from both sides of partnerships that will contribute in the future to the acceleration of the Libyan economy.

Opening sustainable areas and prospects for the Libyan economy and investment, the best ways and trends that promote and contribute to the consolidation and preparation of investment between the two countries, were also discussed.

On the side-lines of the forum, a bilateral meeting between the Libyan delegation and the Saudi delegation participating in the forum, was also held on Tuesday. The meeting exchanged views on strengthening economic relations, exploiting bilateral opportunities, and opening prospects and areas of successful economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
