In another reunification move: GECOL reconnects western, eastern and central Libya’s electricity network

London, 8 October 2021:

Libya’s state General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced yesterday that it had reconnected the country’s wester, central and eastern electricity networks.

GECOL said the reconnection work, which has been ongoing since January 2020, will contribute significantly to the stability of the electrical network, as well as benefiting from the energy produced in all generation stations.
