London, 1 May 2021:
In a meeting with the HoR members and notables of Tajura, Libya’s prime minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, said that the last week’s total blackout was a deliberate act.
He referred to the perpetrators as ‘‘enemies of the Libyan people, especially the igniters of wars, electricity cutters, the authors of the gasoline crisis, and those who prevent the government from communicating with citizens and families.’’
Aldabaiba is very aware of the importance of gaining domestic legitimacy through the delivery of the most basic of services. His predecessor, Faiez Serraj, failed miserably on both counts.
