With the background of the anniversary of the foundation of the Libyan army and the state-recognised militia clashes in Tajura, Tripoli based Libyan prime minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba lauded the role of a unified army during a speech at the graduation ceremony of students of military colleges and academies in Janzur, west of Tripoli.
Aldabaiba said:
- We expect this batch to follow the path of the founders of the army to repel external ambitions and fragment personal ambitions that seek to return tyranny.
- We are proceeding to build a strong army with a doctrine based on God and then the nation, and not based on individuals (Hafter, militia leaders) and entities (various militias).
- We affirm that the unity of Libya is a red line, and we will stand in front of anyone who dares to renew military violations and reinforce division.
- The army represents the prestige of the state and the foundation of its system and the means of its survival, as it is the source of security for the citizen and the nation.
