London, 4 March 2021:

The Media Office of Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, designate prime minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU), reported today that Aldabaiba had submitted this morning the names of his proposed government to the Tobruk based parliament, the House of Representatives (HoR).

The Media Office stated that this comes within the framework of commitment to the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) Roadmap, and to the procedures specified for the delivery of the government’s formation before the HoR confidence granting session to be held on March 8, 2021, in Sirte.

It will be recalled that Aldabaiba had submitted to the HoR a ‘‘vision’’ of his GNU on 25 February. He had 21 days from his selection by the LPDF in Geneva on 5 February to present his government to the HoR, who in turn had 21 days to endorse it or return it to the LPDF for endorsement.
