London, 11 November 2020:
The Central Branch of Libya’s Privatization and Investment Board (PIB) announced that Misrata Sea Passenger Terminal will open in early 2021.
The project is a rarity in that it is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) development project between Libya’s state Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) and a private Libyan tourism company, Kevalay. It is expected to create hundreds of jobs.
The PIB said in the first phase the terminal will operate a line to Turkey and Tunisia. The second phase will be trips to Malta, Italy, Morocco, Algeria and Egypt. Several other routes will be introduced in the third phase, the PIB reported.
