Emhemed Shouaib, the vice president of the House of Representatives and one of the main actors . . .[restrict]in the UN-brokered Libya Dialogue which resulted in the Libyan Agreement signed in Skhirat last month, has been chosen by the Libyan Radio and TV Producers Union as its candidate for the title “Man of Peace” for the 2015. The nomination has been presented to the Arab Media Union, an NGO based in Cairo, for the final choice when it holds its awards ceremony next month.
The event, entitled the Arab Media Union Championship is held annually in Cairo, Egypt.
Other nominees for the peace award include King Mohamed VI of Morocco, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
During the event, which will take place from 16 to 23 February, the historic Libyan town of Ghadames will be honoured as Arab Heritage City 2016. [/restrict]
