Benghazi, 21 November 2015:
Two more security officers have been shot dead in Ajdabiya.
Omar Al Gabsi was killed in a . . .[restrict]drive by-shooting in the town’s Tripoli Street. A member of the Libyan National Army, he had returned to Ajdabiya, his home town, for a brief visit from Benghazi where he was dealing with the files of injured military personnel.
Also reported murdered yesterday in Ajdabiya was Hamza Senussi, a policeman who worked in the town’s criminal investigation department.
It is not known who was responsible for the killings, although local officials blame the Ajdabiya Revolutionaries’ Shoura Council, which they say is increasingly collaborating with the Islamic State (IS).
Security and religious figures in the town have been targetted in a wave of assassinations and attempted assassinations in recent weeks in what is seen as a clear attempt to wipe out or terrorise into submission anyone who stands for law and order there. [/restrict]
