In bid to build support for parliament’s rejection of the UNSMIL Peace Accord in its . . .[restrict]present form, House of Representatives president Ageela Saleh has headed off to Egypt and the UAE.
In an unannounced trip, he arrived in Cairo today with a party of three MPs and went straight into a meeting with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Sisi. UNSMIL denied reports that this evening he may have been meeting Bernardino Leon, who is due to give a press conference tomorrow in Tunis.
Saleh is accompanied by HoR Defence Committee chairman Fathi Saaiti, Investment Committee chairman Al-Gatrani and Aisa Al-Araibi. They have with them Issa Abdul Kaum, an adviser on Africa.
The group is expected to now move to the United Arab Emirates. [/restrict]
