Tripoli, 26 November 2014:

Libya Dawn forces today again tried to seize control of Al-Wattiya airbase, south of Al-Jmail, according . . .[restrict]to Zintan Operations Room but were repulsed.  A Zintani spokesman told the Libya Herlad that when 20 armed vehicles had headed towards the base aircraft had been sent in and attacked them. Four had been destroyed. Ground forces then moved against them, capturing another three vehicles and 11 men.

There had been casualties on Libya Dawn’s side, both dead and injured, the Zintani spokesman claimed. These had been left for the Libya Red Crescent to deal with: “We don’t have the medical supplies to treat them,” he said.

The other Libya Dawn vehicles and men had retreated to a pumping station next to the gas pipeline to Zuwara, the Zintani spokesman claimed. As a result, he said, the aerial operation had been suspended because of fears of wrecking the pipeline.
