The Libyan government is reported to be looking, among other things, for financial support to enable state institutions loyal to it and the House of Representatives to operate.

This is Nazhuri’s first visit to the UAE since being appointed Chief of Staff late last month. He has, however, been three times to Egypt for talks with the Egyptian Chief of Staff Egyptian Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mahmoud Hegazy, most recently the day before yesterday.

Egypt and the UAE, one of the major backers of the National Transitional Council during the revolution in 2011, are prominent among Arab supporters of HoR and the government at present. Both have been accused by the opposition Libya Dawn operation of being behind last month’s raids on itw positions in Tripoli. [/restrict]
