Benghazi, 9 September 2014:
A Gumhouriya Bank manager was kidnapped last night in eastern Benghazi.
His . . .[restrict]neighbours in the Bel Awn district of the city told the Libya Herald that the man, whom they identified as Bushafa Al-Ameri, had been missing for only a short period of time before his abductors contacted his family. They have demanded a substantial fee for his release.
Other than this brief contact there is no further information about Ameri’s kidnapping. Benghazi has been plagued by almost daily kidnappings for the last year. Many abductions, however, have been resolved with families paying only a fraction of often inflated random demands.
