Tripoli, 13 February 2014:
An Air Force helicopter, reportedly an MI-16, went missing near the eastern town of Sidra . . .[restrict]yesterday morning.
Benghazi’s Benina Airbase lost contact with the plane minutes after it took off from Sodra airport, according to Libyan news agency LANA. There are unconfirmed reports that the helicopter was returning to Benghazi from the Tamenhint airbase near Sebha and had stopped at Sidra to refuel.
There were reportedly five military personnel on board, three of whom were Air Force pilots.
