The Foreign Minister, Mohamed Abdulaziz, is in Ethiopia taking part in the meetings of the Executive . . .[restrict]Council of the African Union ahead of the 22nd summit of African leaders in Addis Ababa. It lasts until 31 January.
And arrived on Friday and headed to the north-western city of Bahir Dar for a three-day “retreat” at which Africa’s foreign ministers have been discussing major issues confronting the continent. Food was supposed to top the agenda but the crises in South Sudan and the Central African Republic are said to have displaced it.
Last week, a Libya delegation visiting Ethiopia, led by First Deputy President of the General National Congress, Ezzidden Yahya, made a courtesy call to the AU headquarters in Addis to reiterate Libya’s firm support for the organisation. [/restrict]
