Tripoli based Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, met with a high-level delegation from the African Union at his Tripoli Ministry yesterday.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in sustainable development and support the alignment of national programmes with the goals of Agenda 2063.
Al-Hwej emphasized the importance of strengthening food security and achieving self-sufficiency, calling for a focus on infrastructure projects that support transit trade between Africa and Europe via Libya.
Discussions focused on:
- Strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the African Union within the framework of Agenda 2063.
- Aligning national programmes with the continental goals outlined in Agenda 2063.
- Emphasis was placed on enhancing food security and achieving self-sufficiency for African countries by 2063.
- The delegation was urged to prioritize infrastructure projects to support intercontinental transit trade.
