The Ras Jedir border crossing did not reopen yesterday and remains closed today, Muhammed Jarrafa, head . . .[restrict]of Libyan National Security at the border post told the Libya Herald – contrary to reports from Tunisian Ministry of Defence yesterday that it had reopened. It closed on Tuesday as a result of a blockade by residents from Ben Guardane.
It remains open for emergencies and for Tunisians and Libyans returning home, Jarrafa stressed.
“Libyans who wish to go to Tunisia will have to travel by plane. Otherwise many are travelling through Wazen-Dehiba border crossing”, he added.
There has been congestion at the Wazen-Dehiba crossing since yesterday, according to Tunisian radio station Radio Tataouine. [/restrict]
