Tripoli, 15 September 2013:
There were celebrations yesterday in Obari on the arrival of the fourth and final turbine unit for the town’s new gas-powered electricity station. When up and running the station will have a capacity of 640 MW.
The foundation stone for it was laid just nine months ago, on 31 December, by the then acting Elecricity Minister Mohamed Khalat and the former Deputy Prime Minister Awad Barasi, who had been electricity minister in the previous Al-Kib government.
There are also plans to build a solar power station to the south of Obari. [/restrict]
