Tripoli, 9 September 2013:
Defence Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni arrived in Khartoum yesterday on a two-day visit to discuss boosting military . . .[restrict]ties between Libya and Sudan.
Al-Thinni held talks with his Sudanese counterpart Abdul Rahim Mohammed Hussein, discussing military and security cooperation, particularly in the area of joint border security.
“Al-Thinni’s visit was to strengthen relations in the military field,” Spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, Abdulrazaq Al-Shebahe, told the Libya Herald. “It is likely the two sides will sign agreement but it depends on exactly what talks took place.”
They also discussed the latest security and military developments in Libya, and the Sudanese role in helping Libya achieve stability in Libya. What Libya could do to help maintain peace in Sudan was also covered.
Al-Thinni is being accompanied by a high level military delegation for the two-day visit, Al-Shebahe added. [/restrict]
