Tripoli, 28 December:
A Libya Shield unit, the southern brigade, captured several “drug dealers” yesterday in Mizdah, Libyan news agency LANA reported.
Security . . .[restrict]personnel from the unit also seized around 70 kilograms of cannabis when they captured the suspects, who have since been handed over to the relevant legal authority for investigation.
Ahmad Al-Hasnawi, commander of the Libya Shield forces in Mizdah, called on the state to support his units in helping to maintain order in the town.
He told LANA that drug traffickers and dealers were exploiting the security vacuum, and were able to smuggle banned substances and people into the area. [/restrict]
