Tripoli, 7 August:
The Wazen-Dahiba crossing . . .[restrict]on the Tunisian border reopened yesterday morning, Monday, in both directions.
The crossing was closed on Sunday by the Libyan authorities following disturbances on Saturday on both sides of the frontier in which Libyan and Tunisian vehicles were attacked.
Movement of traffic into Tunisia on Monday was reported to be extremely slow. Eye-witneses said that this was because local brigadesmen, trying to ensure there was no repetition of Saturday’s violence, had set up three checkpoints before vehicles even reached the border post.
Many vehicles had to wait all night Sunday on the Libya side to cross into Tunisia.
