The Libyan Passport and Nationality Department opened an office at the University of Sirte on Friday, as part . . .[restrict]of an effort to reduce centralisation of power in Tripoli.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Immigration and Nationality Department of Sirte, Ramadan Ali Taroug, along with other officials, university representatives and students.
The new office will be responsible for the issuance and renewal of passports and identity cards.
“The opening of this office represents our ambition to put an end to centralisation of power in Libya”, Taroug said, adding that the office would also provide services to the university’s many students.
