Tripoli: April 2
Six months after it was . . .[restrict]cleared to resume flights to Benghazi, Air Malta has denied reports that it was finally about to do so.
The carrier was authorised last September to run a twice-weekly service to the city, as well as a daily service to Tripoli, which is now operating.

As soon as the clearance was given last year, Air Malta re-opened its sales agency in Benghazi. However at the time, it also stressed that critical to its restarting the link was the need for visa issuance to be improved.
An airline spokesman would only say today that it was working hard to resume is flights to Benghazi “ as soon as possible.” [/restrict]
