Tripoli, March 20: Egyptian security services at the Salloum border crossing have arrested five transport vehicles along with their drivers for . . .[restrict]attempting to smuggle nine tons of copper out of Libya.
A joint operation was carried out by Egypt’s Criminal and Civil Protection Police Department with the armed forces.
The joint operation resulted in the capture of five men, identified only by their first names and ages: Bakkar MN, 37 years old; Ghaith NP, 40; Muftah QP, 36; Khalifa, 33; and Fouad Kh, 42. All five men were caught driving vehicles with Egyptian number plates.
The copper was found hidden under the vehicles.
