Football tournament in Derna in memory of Abdel-Fattah Younis

Tobruk, March 30: The local Falcons Club has organised a football tournament in Tobruk  this past week in memory of Abdel-Fattah . . .[restrict]Younis, the  commander-in-chief of the NTC forces who was murdered last July.
Participating in “The Major General, Martyr, Abdel-Fattah Younis Football Tournament” were eight teams:  Swehli, Wahda, Ahli-Bengahzi, Al-Nasr, Al-Akhdar, Darnis, Sokoor-A and Sokoor-B.
The opening ceremony of the tournament was attended by Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Ahmed Bani as well as representatives and heads of sport clubs and a large gathering of fans and sport lovers. The event included speeches and poems as well as performances of traditional dancing.
The opening match of the tournament was between Al-Akhdar and Ahli Benghazi which ended in a 1-1 draw. The second game brought together Sokkor-A and Wehda and ended with a Wehda victory of 3-0.
Thursday’s matches were played between Sokkor-B and Swehli and ended with Swehli’s winning 1-0. The day’s second game was between Darnis and Al-Nasr and ended with a 2-1 win for Darnis.  Friday’s matches were between Akhdar and Sokoor-A and between Wahda and Ahli Benghazi.
